PE

Hello, Vernon Owls!

 

We are Paula Politte and Joe Orzali, your Vernon PE teachers! 

 

Paula taught Language Arts, Health and PE in Houston, Texas for 7 years.  For 9 years, Paula was an Assistant Professor at Concordia University, teaching Health, PE and Education courses.  She's been at Vernon since 2020 teaching K-8 PE.

 

The 2024-25 school year is Coach Joe's second year at Vernon.  He's had 17 years of experience teaching high school and middle school science in Portland, Gresham, and Boston.  Eight of those years were at alternative high schools in Portland, where Joe also coached basketball and taught PE and one year teaching PE at a K-8 charter school.  Currently, Joe coaches U-10 girls soccer. 

 

 

During the 2024-25 school year, our PE program will focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and developing age-appropriate sports skills.  Those skills will range from simple locomotor activities for our younger students to more advanced sports-specific skills for the older students.
